Where the data lives
For small teams, apps store data directly in a Google Sheet your team already owns: simple, portable, and no lock-in. For larger deployments the app gets its own store with proper auth and its own subdomain.
Why this matters. Most companies have three or four tools they would build if building one did not cost a quarter of engineering time. In Kryttle it costs a sentence.
